About Amy

I am a Virginia licensed Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years of professional experience (13 years of this time I’ve held an active CPA license.)  Coming from an accounting family, I started my first accounting clerk job at the age of 14.  Fast forward 20 years, I have since assisted hundreds of business and individual clients, from start-ups through succession planning. 

When I say “Plan”-Centered, I mean it!  I have studied and acquired the right credentials and experiences to provide the highest quality Tax and Business Consulting services.  I received my Master of Accountancy (M.Acc.) degree from East Tennessee State University and aced the CPA exam in one sitting (yes really – a perfect score!)  My earliest years out of school started in Big 4 accounting firms; however, in recent years, I have focused my career on serving small business and investor clients. 

I am a “tax nerd,” but I can also speak clearly and “teach you my ways.”  I frequently train small business owners how to use their accounting software, keep their books up-to-date, AND understand the numbers.  Most of this experience comes from years in public accounting; however, I have taught collegiate level accounting courses as an adjunct faculty member.  Even my most resistant students have had no choice but to learn something from me!      

I am an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA,) Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA,) and an experienced QuickBooks accountant. 

I live in Abingdon, Virginia with my husband Chris (a Virginia/Tennessee practicing attorney) and our 3 beautiful tax credits: Laura Lee, Julia Mae, and Noah James.

Industry Focus: Real Estate, Investments, Professional Services, Medical Services, Entertainment, Restaurant, and Small Business.

Education: Master of Accountancy degree from East Tennessee State University; Bachelor of Science in Recording Industry & Flute Performance from Middle Tennessee State University.
